Speaker’s Profile:

Ir. Arul Hisham A Rahim graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso, USA in 1987 with a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Fellow of IEM, a PECP with BEM and an IntPE. He specializes in thermal storage system design, air conditioning systems and energy efficiency. His work included formulation of chilled water tariff, techno-legal aspects and business modelling. His position as Senior Partner of a MEP consultancy firm AHAR Consultants PLT, and Managing Partner of AHARC Lestari PLT (Energy Services Company) has been involved in many district cooling and energy efficiency projects in Putrajaya, KLIA, KL Sentral and Cyberjaya. Ir. Arul is currently the Chairman of IEM Professional Interview (PI) Board sub-committee, IEM Examinations & Qualifications Committee and sits in the BEM Scale of Fee committee.

Ir. Assoc. Prof. Hj. Shamil Abu Hassan hailed from the prestigious Colorado School of Mines, USA with a degree in Engineering majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Civil Engineering. He also obtained a Master in Engineering Technology from University of Kuala Lumpur, focussing on the prediction of the most suitable propeller configuration small electrically- powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Ir. Hj. Shamil is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) in Mechanical Engineering registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a certified Automotive Professional Engineer. His vast experience in manufacturing serving in the multi-national companies has taken him from managing a small design outfit in product design and tooling, advanced manufacturing systems to managing manufacturing operations of a reputable internationally renowned product manufacturer.
