SYNOPSIS

The Malaysian Police Training Centremis the oldest police academy in Malaysia and the training institute for Royal Malaysia Police. It is located at Semarak Street (formerly Henry Gurney Street), Kuala Lumpur. It is the place where the police is trained under the government.  The police trainees will be guaranteed to have a job and will be trained for six or nine months there.  

The main function of PULAPOL Kuala Lumpur is to conduct basic policing training for newly appointed police officers with the objective of acting as a change agent for new trainees from a civilian to a disciplined and integrity police officer. Before a person wishes to become a police member, they should meet the academic qualifications - at least SPM for constables, STPM/Diploma for inspectors and a first degree for assistant superintendents of police (ASP) Then they need to meet the physical requirements that are set which is height at least 165 cm and a minimum body weight of 47.6 kg for male candidates and 160 cm and 46.2 for women.

Body weight should match the height so that they look more fit and strong.

In addition, male candidates must have a chest measurement of at least 81 cm and 86 cm when breathing in, in addition to having clear vision without glasses, not color blindness and no hearing impairment, in addition to being certified healthy by the Government Medical Officer in various aspects.


TRAINING PHASE

The trainees will gather at the Police Training Center (PULAPOL) to equip themselves with knowledge and policing skills.

Once all the physical and academic requirements are met, the candidates will face another challenge and obstacle for six months for the position of constable and nine months for the position of inspector at the Police Training Center (PULAPOL) to equip themselves with knowledge and policing skills.

•  The visit is strictly limited to 40 participants registered on a first-come, first-served basis.
