SYNOPSIS
During tabling of Budget 2022 in October 2021, the Government of Malaysia (GoM) announced the implementation of a voluntary carbon market (VCM) as one of the key initiatives to address the climate change agenda. The VCM is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the then Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA), and Bursa Malaysia Berhad. What is a VCM? What are the salient features of the Bursa Carbon Exchange (BCX)? How do we participate? What are the benefits of participating in the exchange? Join us in this session for a lively discussion with Dr Wei-nee Chen, Head of Carbon Market, Bursa Malaysia Bhd.
