SYNOPSIS
For a built environment to materialize it must go through the various stages from conception, planning, design, construction and completion. The stakeholders at each of the stages may vary however the owner remain constant. In this talk issues or subject matters presented related to building services and this must be viewed from the Engineering perspective based on Engineering principles or science.
Participants are to provide their opinion by selecting one of these categories namely Good, Bad and Ugly on matters presented to them namely specific UBBL clauses, specific Uniform Technical Guidelines clause, specific Malaysian Standard and clauses and actual building services Installations.
The speaker would like to share with the participants with the above matters and then allowing them to select their choice and to express their views if they choose to do so. At the end of the session, participants can conclude on the current calibre of the local Engineers. The view expressed in this talk is that of the speaker.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Gary Lim Eng Hwa
BE(Mech.) NZ, Mgt Dip. FIEM, P.Eng, Asean Eng., AT31000 (Approved ISO31000 Risk Management Lead Trainer) Gary is a member of the Building Services Technical Division and member of the Fire Advisory Board of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and a Management Diploma from New Zealand. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). In 2016 he obtained Approved ISO31000 Risk Management Lead Trainer Certificate from G31000 Institution.
Gary conducted a course on Emergency Response Preparedness in Manufacturing sectors covering all the likelihood of an emergency. The response of each of the emergency should be specific rather than general hence there will be multi teams within the plant.
