SYNOPSIS

The IEM-CIE-HKIE Tripartite Seminar aims to create a venue for interactive discussions and sharing of experience in multi-discipline engineering among Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE, Taiwan), Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), and The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). The seminar is hosted in turn among the three professional institutions. This year, IEM will be hosting the One Day IEMCIE- HKIE Tripartite Seminar with the theme “Resilient and Sustainable Solutions for Geotechnical Engineering". Geotechnical structures such as foundations, slopes, retaining structures, embankments, and underground works are essential for built environment infrastructures. It is inevitable to integrate sustainability and resilient solutions in geotechnical engineering to reduce the adverse environmental impact and enhancing social and economic value to the society.
