PROFESSOR SURESH NARAYANAN
Suresh Narayanan is Professor of Economics, at Universiti Sains Malaysia. His publications are on fiscal policy, labour, innovation, and illicit drug use. He has consulted for national and international agencies.
He was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, a visiting professor at the El Colegio de Mexico, the College of Europe, Tubingen University, and Chulalongkorn University, and has given guest lectures at Aalborg University, the Technical University of Denmark, and Uppsala University (Sweden).
SYNOPSIS
Corridor Development: Intent and Experience of the Northern Corridor Development Region (NCER)
Economic corridors connect economic regions/states along a defined geography. What economic corridors can achieve depends on two factors : • The characteristics personified by the existing economic networks in the region the corridors are situated. • The characteristics that corridor development is intended to introduce or strengthen.
We will examine the case of the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) against this framework and evaluate its objectives, challenges, and achievements.

DR. ABDUL RAHMAN ABDUL LATIP
Abdul Rahman Abdul Latip is a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Development, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. His publications are on policy evaluation, outcomes and impact evaluation, policy planning and policy analysis. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Xiamen University China. He has consulted for international agencies such as United Nation Development Programme(UNDP).
SYNOPSIS
Socio-Economic Transformation of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) Development Programmes in Enhancing the Well-Being of the People East Coast Economic Region (ECER) that has been established in 2008 is an economic development region based on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, covers Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and the district of Mersing in Johor. The ECER Master Plan, approved by the Government in 2008, was formulated as a basis to guide the development of ECER until 2025 to reduce regional socio-economic disparities, eradicating poverty, creating employment opportunities and improving the standard of living for the local populace. This study aims to analyse the socio-economic transformation brings by ECER into this region in the aspects of job creation, investment, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Ir. AZHAR AZMI
Ir. Azhar Azmi is currently the Head Of Civil Engineering Department, at INTI International University. He has been involved in highway and transportation engineering for 15 years in both academia and industry. He has experience in design, supervision, and project management consultancy (PMC) of highway related projects locally, and in countries such as Pakistan, and Cambodia.
SYNOPSIS
Economic Analysis of Infrastructure Project Case Study: Balochistan, Pakistan National Highway Economic analysis is one of the decision making tools in the in the planning of infrastructure projects, such as road construction, and is utilized by many international bodies such as World Bank. An economic analysis case study of road improvement project located Balochistan, Pakistan considers the vehicle operating cost (VOC) and user delay cost.
