SYNOPSIS

The presentation shall cover the National Agricommodity Policy 2021-2030. Theme of this talk is Advancing Agricommodity for Sustainability and Shared Prosperity. The evolution of the policy and its contribution towards the National GDP and the aspirations of the Agricommodity Sector will be highlighted. The issues and challenges of the sectors will be shared with the Engineers for discussion. Besides that, DAKN Framework and Commodity-Specific Aspirations will be presented in this talk as well. This talk is very much beneficial to all Engineers especially those who are working in Agricommodity domain in understanding the policy direction and charting the sector for opportunities and way forward towards modernisation, automation and digitalisation.


SPEAKER'S PROFILE

YBhg. Datuk Ravi Muthayah is currently the Secretary-General of Ministry of Plantations Industry and Commodities, Malaysia and has served in various ministries and capacities during his 33 years of service in the Malaysian civil service. He has a Bachelor of Economics and Masters in Business Administration. He has vast working experience in various ministries which encompasses taxation policy and intellectual property as well agricultural and manufacturing sectoral planning and development during his stint in the Economic Planning Unit of The Prime Minister’s Department. His ministry is also actively involved in ensuring the agenda of sustainability through various sustainability certification schemes related to palm oil, timber and rubber.
