SYNOPSIS
Generally, in today’s modern healthcare services, the 24 hours daily operation is mandatory to keep the clinical or intensive department clean and safe for the occupant or health support staff. The departments involved are emergency, operating theatre, intensive ICU/CCU/NICU/PICU Ward, Isolation Ward, Burn treatment, radiotherapy, labour delivery, VIP Wards and other clinical support such as imaging, radiotherapy treatment, central sterile support, pathology & animal laboratory, TPN/CDR, medical store and etc.
The efficiency on the equipment selection and various system configuration such as 100% fresh air or high air change are the critical factors to meet the requirement of energy saving and green criteria. Therefore, careful system planning in the preliminary design stage is the utmost important for the engineer. Objectives :
1. Deep understanding on the design of hospital’s air conditioning system in compliance to green requirement 2. Compliance with regulatory requirement. 3. Understanding of various air side plant system selection for high efficiency design objective. 4. Understanding of various water side plant system selection for high efficiency design objective.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER Ir. PUA CHING TIAN
Ir. Pua Ching Tian is an experienced and qualified Professional Engineer with over 20 years of hospital/health institutional related Mechanical Engineering Consultantcy experience in both private and government sectors. He has full spectrum of building related engineering services primarily major in air conditioning and mechanical ventilation services in larger scale of healthcare sector covers primary/secondary/tertiary hospital.
He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, and a member of Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM). He has a degree in Mechanical & Material Engineering from University Kebangsaan Malaysia.
