SYNOPSIS
Since 2014, Standards Malaysia had send young professional who involve in International Electrotechnical Comission (IEC) works to attend IEC Young Professionals (IEC-YP) workshop which held in parallel with IEC general meeting. IEC-YP workshop allow the voice of world’s upcoming Electrotechnology expert to be heard in the international arena and help shape the future of global standardization and conformity assessment. This year IEC-Young Professionals (IECYP) workshop will be held in Shanghai, China, from 21st–23rd October 2019. In conjunction with 5th Batch of Malaysia delegates to IEC-YP workshop, IEM EETD and Standards Malaysia would like to gather current and past Malaysia IEC-YP to share their experience gain from the IEC-YP workshop since 2014.
BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
Ir. Lee Cheng Pay is former IEC Young Professionals representing Malaysia to IECYP workshop in 2015 at Belarus. He is currently Deputy Chairman of Electrical Engineering Technical Division of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (EETD IEM).In Standard Development, he had become the member for various working group member. At work, Ir. Lee Cheng Pay in an Electrical Professional Electrical Engineer graduated from University of Malaya and had dedicated the last 12 years of his career to Engineering Consultancy Practice. He has established his technical skills in various projects by having vast exposure to many large-scale Electrical System. He was involved in various types of industries including Residential, Factories, Shopping Complex, Data Centre, Government Project, Office Building, Renewable Energy Plant, Institutional Building, Theme Park, Airport and Hospital. He enjoys meeting people in the engineering fraternity.
Mr. Alex Looi Tink Huey has two Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Software Engineering. He is the Head of Projects for Malim Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd providing M&E consultancy services and turnkey project management for renew able energy power plants, commercial, and industrial developments; and Head of Projects for LAJ Engineering Sdn Bhd providing electrical service contracting services; electrical installation inspection, T&C of high voltage & low voltage electrical equipment, power system studies, power quality analysis, efficient energy management, and preventive maintenance programme. He is currently the elected Committee Member of IEM Electrical Engineering Technical Division (EETD) and Chairman of the Activities Organising Committee. He is also serve in the IECSEG10: Ethics in Autonomous and Artificial Intelligence Applications Committee and IECSEG11: Future Sustainable Transportation Committee. He is a Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) with Energy Commission, Associate ASEAN Engineer (AAE), and a Certified Infrared Thermographer.
