SYNOPSIS
The objective of this forum is to discuss about cyber security in terms of its risks, challenges and management issues. The ques- tions that may be answered during the forum are:
1. What is your role or your company's role with regards to Cybersecurity? 2. How is the support from the government regarding Cybersecurity in the Malaysian market? 3. With the advent of Covid-19, location and data tracking applications will be widely implemented. How does this affect us? 4. There are always daily news reports about scams with the intention of creating awareness in the public domain. Despite this, we still read about people getting cheated. Why have we failed? 5. What are the challenges/dangers that your industry faces in implementing Cybersecurity? For example, what are the steps/processes needed to identify valuable data? 6. What skills are required by engineers to be prepared to join a Cybersecurity related workforce?
PANELIST BIODATA
Mr. Karthik Raguram Sundar is a seasoned technology executive with strong leadership skills with 9 + years of professional experience in the area of cyber security. Karthik’s key strengths are in the areas of cyber security, IT transformation, IT governance, IT service & infrastructure management, enterprise risk management and related fields of work. He has a track record of success in conceptualizing, developing and managing corporate-wide IT initiatives in complex multi-stakeholders environments. Prior to KPMG, Karthik has worked with IBM India Pvt Ltd and Juniper Networks specializing in Oracle database, software development, network design, vulnerability assessment penetration testing, project management and network configu- ration review.
Dr. Azman Ali is a network and security professional, with 15 years of experi- ence working on network design, development and operation (SOC/NOC, datacenter, incident handling and field support). He spent 4 years at Cyber Security & Resilience Group at Infolab21 UK (2010-2014) conducting research on Autonomic Cyber Resilience Strategy by employing evolving machine learning algorithms and policy orchestration. After his PhD, he joined TM con- sultancy division and provide advisory services for key accounts that cover aviation, financial, energy, utilities, real estate and public sectors mainly on enterprise security, network (cloud), big data and IoT (SCADA/telemetry).
Mr. Sivanathan Subramaniam heads the Cyber Risk Specialist Unit in Bank Negara Malaysia with key responsibilities include policy development, cyber risk surveillance infrastructure development and undertake macro-surveil- lance on technology and cyber risks. Siva harnesses his knowledge and skills from his 17 years of experiences carrying multiple information security roles. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has a Masters Degree in Information Security.
