SYNOPSIS
Engineers today are frequently asked to incorporate sustainability component into their designs, products, and infrastructure.
However, this raised questions to : What is sustainability, sustainable development, and what is the role of the engineer into conserving the environment while playing a major role in developing a nation ? This webinar explains what sustainable development is and briefly discuss on Malaysia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) from engineering’s design perspective. The webinar will also discuss on the sustainability issues that required the engineer’s attention while designing a project.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
John Chng, a Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled WasteManagement (CePSWaM), and certified internal auditor for ISO9001 and ISO14001. Received his Master in Environmental Analysis and Modeling, and Bachelor of Environmental Science, from Universiti Putra Malaysia, specialized in environmental simulation and atmospheric sciences. With 9 years of teaching and research experience with SEGi University, currently a Program Leader for Chemical Engineering, cum Senior Lecturer under the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (FoEBEIT).
