Innovative, Sustainable and Affordable Smart Solutions – Attoch Inner Window & AGIBS Lightweight Steel Framing Wet/Solid Wall
The demand for green, sustainable and affordable solutions has grown exceptionally and becoming more important in Malaysia’s building & construction arena in recent years. This is especially true for affordable housing project, whereby balancing the requirement of sustainability, cost and lead-time is often the critical success factor for such projects.
In this presentation, the speaker will share on how the innovation breakthrough and technical advantages of a comprehensive integrated solution, consist of primarily a steel house framing system, combined with other steel components such as steel door and window frames, structural sections, metal decking & ceilings, trusses, roofing, Louvres and sunshades, is able to successfully meeting the affordability and sustainability requirements for housing projects.
The physical results and key learning experiences of several case studies of projects completed in Malaysia will also be presented, to illustrate how such solution is able to offer flexibility in design, optimizing project cost and construction time.
SPEAKERS
1. Y.Bhg. Dato’ Chan Wah Kiang Y.Bhg. Dato’ Chan Wah Kiang graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Campbell University, USA in 1983. He started his career as a Technical Chemist with a paint manufacturer in 1984; and moved on to be the Assistant QA and Plant Manager for a metal roofing manufacturer until 1989. In 1990, he co-founded Asia Roofing Industries Sdn Bhd, focus on the manufacturing of metal roll form products and successfully listed the company under AJIYA Bhd on 2nd Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia) in 1996, and later in the Main Board in 2003.
Dato’ Chan is also the co-founder of AJIYA Safety Glass Sdn Bhd, which has now become the leading safety glass processor in ASEAN region.
Dato’ Chan Wah Kiang is the Group Managing Director of AJIYA Bhd, and the panel member of Industry Expert Advisory Panel - Entrepreneurship Programme set up by Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) Johor Branch. He is also the Council Member of Industrial Advisory Council for Politeknik Port Dickson and one of UCSI University’s external advisory panel members who contributes to the development of its entrepreneurship programme.
With more than 30 years of experience in the Building and Construction Industry , Dato’ Chan envisions to share his experience, knowledge and technical expertise and industry insights in promoting construction excellence and sustainable built environment in Malaysia.
2) Mr. Jack Chum Pak Kuan
Jack Chum Pak Kuan has spent over 16 years in steel related industries since graduated from University Sains Malaysia (USM). In his career, he has been involved in Process Improvement, Quality Assurance, Product Failure Analysis, Product Specification and Product Development portfolio.
He is actively involved with professional bodies such as Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and government bodies such as Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) in conducting technical seminar regarding coated steel for metal roofing, wall cladding and light weight structural steel application.
He is also a member of Technical Committee (TC) in setting up Malaysian Standard (MS) for Alloy Steel and Coated Steel such as MS 1196, MS 2657, MS 2383 and SIRIM Eco-Label for Coated Steel.
