SYNOPSIS
A ship is like a floating city with all the privileges enjoyed by any normal land city. Just like a conventional city, the ship also requires all the basic amenities to sustain life on board; the chief among them is power or electricity. The Power Distributed on board a ship needs to be supplied efficiently throughout the ship. For this the power distribution system of the ship is used. During this visit, participants learn as to how power is generated and supplied on board. The design of the ship must cater for situation in its intact stability calculations. The ship’s equipment and system have a built-in redundancy to ensure maximum survivability in particular electrical system onboard the ship. BOUSTEAD NAVAL SHIPYARD SDN BHD builds and repairs ships for defense and maritime market. Some of the types of naval vessels it builds are patrol vessels and fast troop carriers. The company was founded in 1984 and is based in Lumut, Perak.
