SYNOPSIS
Gas turbine is an essential machine in power plants to drive generator for producing electricity. To maintain its efficiency and reliability, a planned overhaul is required. The overhaul is carried out in the plant in a specified duration involving specialists, manpower, material and equipment while maintaining high safety standard. Thus, this talk will discuss the importance of planning before the gas turbine overhaul during power plant outage to the participants. The speaker will also share his experience during his role in OEM Company in preparing gas turbine overhaul. The speaker will also cover some aspects of execution, commissioning, and closing out of the overhaul
SPEAKER’S BIODATA
Ir. Roznan Abdul Rashid has been working in the power plant industry for the past 12 years as Technical Support Engineer, Project Manager, Contract Management and Customer Service Manager in a couple of gas turbine OEM. He is currently working as a company servicing turbines for power plant. Prior to joining the power industry, he had been working for the past 18 years in the oil & gas and marine industry. In the oil and gas industry as Project Engineer in refinery and as Mechanical Engineer in pipeline project and petroleum terminal. His early career started as a Marine Engineer in the marine industry in various ships and shipyards. Ir Roznan graduated with a degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy, USA in 1987.
