SYNOPSIS

The main objective of the technical visit is to visit the exhibition of autonomous vehicle show case in Nanyang Technological University and Science Park. Autonomous vehicle is one of the major development of the vehicle history and it will become an important choice of transport in the future. In this visit, we are going to spend a day at the Exhibition on Autonomous Vehicle in Nanyang Technology University. We will be exposed to the Autonomous Bus Project Navya Arma. NAVYA ARMA is the first entirely autonomous series vehicle (i.e. achieving the highest level of autonomy possible: Level 5) based on French technology. Launched in October 2015, the NAVYA ARMA is a 100% electric and autonomous transport vehicle. The innovating and intelligent driverless shuttle can transport up to 15 passengers and safely drive at 45 km/h. The NAVYA ARMA calls upon state of the art technologies, developed to ensure safety, comfort and performance. NAVYA ARMA is currently being tested in Singapore, where it ferries passengers between the NTU Campus and the Clean Tech eco-business park roughly 1.5km away.

Another highlight of the visit is the Singapore Science Park. Situated along Singapore’s Technology Corridor, the Singapore Science Park 1 & 2 are amongst Asia’s most prestigious addresses for R&D and technology development. The park is also part of the vibrant Greater one-north community together with notable neighbours including the National University of Singapore (NUS), National University Hospital (NUH) and the one-north development. We will be visiting the TUV SUD Digital Centre and PSB Automotive Test Labs at the Science Park with the objectives to witness the showcase of the Digital Centre, PSB test labs and meet TUV SUD’s key AV & automotive testing people.

The projected outcome of the visit is to understand how the autonomous vehicle could be applied in the field and what we can do to import the system into Malaysia.
