SYNOPSIS

D’Saba Agro Farm Sdn Bhd (D’Saba) which is located in Pekan Pahang is part national agenda to improve self-sufficiency level for beef. The company runs cattle feedlot and breeds lot farming and produce meat for local consumption. As the national demand for cattle meat and dairy products increases with population grows, D’Saba took the initiative to drive the industry in pioneering silage production by using technologies from Celikel Turkey. At the farm, participants will have the opportunity to see cattle feeding and breeding activities, and the technology used to cater medium to large scale silage production not only for D’Saba’s cattle consumption but also local supplies. D’Saba adopts sophisticated forage harvesting technology by using Challenger Row-Independent Forage Harvester, TMR silage mixer and Perpetual packaging technology from Celikel. Celikel Perpetual is silage packaging systems that produce high quality silage that is durable and easily transported. One of D’Saba silage product is called Better Silage.

Sungai Lembing is a tin mining town located at 34 km northwest of Kuantan in Pahang.  It is an old mining town, which once had the biggest tin mine on earth.  For 80 years of mining activities, it became the largest, longest and deepest underground tin mine in the world.  Until 1970s, Sungai Lembing was a major producer of underground tin.  From 1891, the Pahang Consolidated Company Limited which was under British Control, had a 120-year lease to mine the area.  The pit mines was closed in 1986 due to high operational costs and low yields, but during their heyday, these mines were among the largest and deepest in the world.  The total tunnel length is 322 km with a depth ranging between 610m and 700m.The next stop at Sungai Lembing Tin Museum.  It displays various collections of mining paraphernalia’s used in underground mining such as drilling machine, railway track, safety helmet, tools, etc.  The arrangement of this museum is according to historical chronology, happenings, and artifacts to make it easier for visitors to see, understand and visualize every information displayed.
