SYNOPSIS
The talk is on THE EXPERT WITNESS IN CONSTRUCTION DISPUTES; HIS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, HIS QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDIBILITY AND CHALLENGES TO HIS EXPERT EVIDENCE.
Construction disputes can run into millions of Ringgit and the evidence of expert witnesses is very important and, at times, crucial to the success and/or failure of the litigants’ cases. The talk will focus on the salient aspects of the use of expert witnesses in such disputes.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Dr. Wong Fook Keong is a practising geotechnical, civil & structural engineering consultant. He has legal training and qualifications in arbitration and commercial law and has been in the dispute resolution arena since 2000. He has appeared as an expert witness in many engineering disputes. He is a Chartered Arbitrator and is on the KLRCA panels of Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator. He is an accredited examiner of the CIArb (London) for arbitration courses up to the Fellow level.
