SYNOPSIS

Based on successful talk and visit regarding the essential oil processing organized in MARDI Headquarters in April, participants requested to have an extension trip to the real plant at MARDI Kuala Linggi, Melaka to see the process in details. Participants will be exposed in ways fragrant lemongrass and lemon myrtle nursery, planting and maturity could be harvested for purpose of distilling essential oils. They will also give the knowledge of the essential oil distillation technology, components of essential oils and essential oil potential in the industry. In addition, they also will visit places such as Home Solar Drying, Pilot Plant Essential Oils, Edible Laboratory Rollout, Quality Control Laboratory and Pilot Plant Essential Oils Product Development such as soap and shower gel.
