SYNOPSIS

What if you could look at your model and see exactly how it would look in a real environment – and then explore it inside and out in virtual reality?
The premise of Revit, the popular building information modeling (BIM) platform, is to design buildings quickly and then see exactly how they might look after construction. However, these renderings can only go so far.

Ms Miranda Lui and Mr. Wayne Lam will use Building Information Modeling (BIM) and VR technologies to facilitate a better world for construction. During the talk, they will discuss by using real cases to show us how to combine the projects with the excellent management experience in the field of green construction measures by using VR interactive technology and how to implement VR in Green Construction and Safety Quality Experience. With the aim of integrating the technology into practice, Ms Miranda and Mr. Wayne Lam will share their view of how to apply AR and MR in Green Construction Measures Management. Meanwhile, they believe that the application of Multimedia Interactive Technology will make the Green Construction Measure Management more effective and more valuable.

SPEAKER BIODATA

Profile 1: Miranda Lui, an internationally educated and highly experienced engineering surveyor and trainer over 20 years of practical work experience in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China and Malaysia, has found MES Services Limited (MES) in 2011 in Hong Kong and MES Asia Sdn Bhd in 2016 in Malaysia. MES is a commercial organization providing the services of professional training, BIM solutions and event management throughout Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau, Malaysia and the UK.

Ms. Lui is currently the Chairlady of The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia Pacific who has been serving the institution community since 2002. She represents Hong Kong to act as an international expert role in ICE/ICES Geospatial Engineering Panel in the UK, bridging between the UK and Asia Pacific development. Meanwhile, she is the Founder and Chairlady of Global BIM Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Profile 2: Wayne Lam graduated at Macquarie University, Sydney majored at Actuarial Science. Mr. Lam worked at a Construction Consultancy, Sydney, specialized at Virtual Design and construction Technology. He is dedicated at risk management by using mathematic model and statistical data mapping skill for locating risk factors. Furthermore, he combined the VDC workflow and actuarial risk assessment methodology at mega construction projects.

Mr. Lam has more than eight years professional experience in the steel construction and manufacturing industries. He participated in and responsible for the almost hundred large steel projects, for BIM application, project management, technical configuration and on-site installation. Including the Hong Kong West Kowloon Terminus project, The Venetian Macao’s replica Eiffel Tower project, Australia Karara’s large magnetite mining with its production line development project, etc.

On the other hand, Mr. Lam is committed to develop the standardization of construction process, digital pre-processing of acceptance, and logistics management and risk control of building materials. With his various project experiences in BIM, Lam has been honored to give his professional BIM advice in talks with major domestic contractors in construction industry, upgrading the EPC industry. Introducing precise management to top - level design and consulting services.
