SYNOPSIS

In the construction industry, there are many parties involved, involving initiation, planning, organizing, scheduling, executing, monitoring and control.  The client will want the job to be done expeditiously, economically and sucessfully, the consultants will have to translate the needs of the client and produce calculations, drawings specifications and documentation, the contractor will implement the works in accordance to the contract, within the scope stipulated, shortest time and lowest cost possible and quality desired whilst the authorites gives it’s fullest cooperation. Despite all these, why project still fails or delay? Could the probable contributing factors be?

Inadequate initiation?
Inadequate estimate?
Inadequate planning?
Inadequate scheduling?
Inadequate design?
Inadequate environmental consideration?
Inadequate quality management?
Inadequate constructor?
Inadequate supervision?
Inadequate communication?
Inadequate risk management?
Inadequate testing & commissioning?
Or, Inadequate Project Management??

How can these project failures be mitigated?
It will be discussed and interacted during this session.
At the end of the session, hopefully, participants will able to appreciate the need and importance of construction project management.
