SYNOPSIS
The new Malaysia Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2), is built to be Malaysia's Next Generation Hub - International Airport Hub - that allows seamless connectivity for both local and international low-cost plus full-service carriers. It is planned to accommodate 45 million passengers a year. The new Malaysia Airport KLIA2 is measured to be at least 257,000 sqm, with 60 gates, 8 remote stands, 80 aerobridges, plus a retail space of 32,000 sqm to accommodate 225 retail outlets. Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) was concerned with the large volume of waste generated per day as well the security level of the airport. Thus, STREAM Automated Waste Collection System (AWCS) was installed to overcome these issues. Waste can be disposed conveniently with 43 load stations within the development. It increases the whole waste disposal process efficiency, eliminates odour and pest issues with frequent removals, reduces the number of garbage trucks and manual labour having to access the building on a regular basis
Note: The visit is strictly limited to 30 participants registered on a first-come, first-served basis.
