SYNOPSIS (Postponed Until Further Notice)

Malaysia has adopted IEC 60364 – 6 as MS IEC 60364 – 6 for electrical installations in year 2003, replacing The Regs. as the primary electrical installations standard. Moreover, two Malaysian standards: MS 1936 (Non – residential buildings) and MS 1979 (Residential Buildings) are developed to complement MS IEC 60364. Moreover, an AEI guideline based on MS IEC (IEC) 61557 and MS IEC (IEC) 60364 – 7 is developed with objective of harmonizing inspection and testing of electrical installations among ASEAN countries.

This one–day course shall discuss the requirements on the inspection and testing of electrical installations complying with MS IEC (IEC) 61557 / MS IEC (IEC) 60364 – 7 / MS 1936 / MS 1979 and The Regs. Additionally, the inspection and testing requirements of important special locations to IEC 60364 – 7 – 7xx, such as Bathroom (701), swimming pools (701), and medical location (710 & MS 2366) shall be discussed.

This 1–course shall benefit consumers, regulators, graduate and practicing engineers, electrical installer and contractors, on the latest requirements of inspection and testing of electrical installations complying with MS IEC (IEC) 61557 / MS IEC (IEC) 60364 – 7 / MS 1936 / MS 1979 and The Regs. and engineers preparing for their professional interview/assessment examination and professional competency examination (PCE).


PROFILE OF SPEAKER

Ir. Lim Kim Ten graduated in B.E (Hons) from University of Malaya in 1979 and M.Sc. (Electrical) from National University of Singapore in 1990.
He has extensive experiences in low voltage electrical installations of buildings, industrial, healthcare facilities, and oil and gas industries. He is actively  involved in Malaysian low voltage electrical standard developments, especially low voltage electrical installation standards such as alternate member of MyENC: Malaysian National Electrotechnical Committee, SWO–Ej–TC1:  Standard Writing Committee on Electrical Installation, Protection and Insulation, and Technical Committee developing Malaysian standards for healthcare facilities. Moreover, Ir. K.T. Lim is actively involved in electronics, systems and PCB design engineering, as speaker in conferences and course instructor in specialised industrial electrical and electronic engineering.

Besides that, he is a Professional Engineer (Electrical) BEM and also a Corporate Member of IEM and actively involved as;
