SYNOPSIS
Tenaga Sulpom Sdn Bhd is established by Seri Ulu Langat Palm Oil Mill Sdn Bhd to undertake the development of Biomass Cogeneration Power Plant in Dengkil Selangor which will be the first of its kind in Malaysia. Electrical power and steam is generated by burning agriculture industrial waste fuels from the palm oil mill. Biomass power technologies convert renewable biomass fuels to heat and electricity using processes similar to those employed with fossil fuels. The biomass fuel is burned in a boiler to produce high-pressure steam which is introduced into a steam turbine connected to an electric generator. The power generated from this biomass power plant is also injected into the national power grid. The aim of this technical visit is to learn the issues and challenges of implementing biomass cogeneration power plant in Malaysia.
Note:
- HIGHLIGHT: In conjunction with AFEO Energy Tour 2016, please be informed that there will be a technical visit to Malaysia’s First Floating Solar System (afternoon session) after the visit to the Biomass Cogeneration Plant. Do register this separate technical visit with us if you are interested! - The visit is strictly limited to only Fifteen (15) participants registered on a first come first pay basis.
