SYNOPSIS
• Registration of Engineers Act (1967) [REA]. Malaysia has be amended for the purpose of liberalization by 31st July 2015. • How REA (of the 2015 amended version) related to ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). • The various implications (of the REA 2015 amended version) for Graduate Engineers; those who aspire to be certified as Professional Engineers practicing engineering and those to be licensed for Engineering Practice in Malaysia.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Rocky H.T. Wong, P.Eng., FIEM; is an Electrical Engineer who has some 50 years involvement/participation in the sectors dealing with Energy, Power and Environmental engineering and technology. Retired from active engineering practice, Ir. Rocky Wong nevertheless continues, actively, with his committed contributions to the Engineering Profession; firstly as a resource person: mentoring young engineers and/or other engineering services professionals (ESPs); and serving in bodies [both Profession Regulatory Authorities (PRA’s) & professional Civil Society Organisations (CSO’s)] dealing with the education and training of engineers and other ESPs. Ir. Rocky Wong chairs TEEAM’s Standards Writing Organisation (SWO) that develops Malaysian Standards on: electrical “installation, protection and insulation”. He writes and speaks extensively on issues relating to Globalisation & Liberalisation focusing on Trade in Services under the ambit of: WTO/AEC/TPP/APEC/FTA’s & companion matters
