SYNOPSIS

High speed broadband has joined running water, gas and electricity as a necessity in housing developments – it has become the fourth utility.

Applications delivered by Fibre-to-the-Home infrastructure using high speed broadband such as video-on-demand, high definition TV, gaming, home security, telecommuting, movie downloads, video-conferencing, sophisticated telephone service and more are all now in high demand – mainly fuelled by the advent and adoption of optical fibre.

Blown Fibre solution reduces both installation and ongoing costs – ducts and tube bundles can be laid in preparation for fibre, which is blown into the ducts to supply service only when needed.

Open Access Network (OAN) is a relatively new concept to property developers in Malaysia. Thus, we strive to educate developers on the benefits of deploying open access network and the value it can offer to a potential tenant and home owner whenever this solution is adopted in their new property development.

During this presentation, we will share our experience on deployment of fibre to-the home project based on Open Access Network (OAN) solution with major property developers in Malaysia for their high-rise condominium and landed property projects.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Aulia Velmy is presently COO and Director of Engineering of Fiber At Home City Networks Sdn Bhd, (Fiber@Home), an independent telecommunication provider that pioneering the open access network concept in Malaysia and holding telecommunication licensed by SKMM.

Aulia Velmy has more than 10 years of experience in Telecommunication industry and has worked with Multinational companies such as YTL Communication, P.T. Berca Global Access & Huawei Technologies.

Aulia joined Fiber@home as Director of Engineering in 2014 and been promoted to Chief Operating Office in 2016. Aulia possess strong end to end technical knowledge over telecommunication and ISP network, excellent project management skill, strong leadership skill, visionary, creative and productive team players.

Aulia lead the team of engineering team to roll out 35 Open Access Fibre to-the home project with major property developer such as SP Setia, Sunway Iskandar, Sunway Properties, Mah Sing Properties, UMLand Berhad, EMKAY Land, Tropicana Corporation and many more.

Aulia graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2001 and holds Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Communication and Computer Engineering and Master Degrees (M.Eng) in Communication and Computer Engineering in 2006.
