SYNOPSIS

Talk on Postgraduate Programmes For Project Management Career Advancement provides a great opportunity to IEM members and non-members on the information of the various postgraduate programmes offered at UTM, ranging from Master by Coursework, Master by Research, PhD, and Industrial PhD to Engineering Doctorate as well as funding available for the studies. Enrolling in postgraduate programme at UTM, particularly RAZAK School of Engineering and Advanced Technology (RAZAK School) will offer a wider exposure to industrial environment since RAZAK School has developed strong linkages with more than 25 industries and organisations, locally and internationally. These industry-link and industry-driven postgraduate programmes, which are tailor-made for the industry, are run on modular basis, mostly during the weekends, thus giving a chance for working executives to improve their academic qualifications whilst benefitting from their work experience.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Prof. Ir. Dr. Sha’ri is currently the Dean of UTM Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology in UTM Kuala Lumpur. He was selected for the Malaysian National Car project in 1983 and spent one year training in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. After completing the training, he worked for almost 6 years in Proton’s Body Assembling Section, and Quality Control Department. He has been with UTM since 1990 and currently active in supervising research projects both at PhD and master level in topics relating to Quality Management, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering. Dr Sha’ri has published over 100 papers in national and international journals and conferences. Besides writing, he has given training to organizations including Proton, IWK, Hitachi Chemical, etc .in topics of Quality Engineering, ISO 9000, Industrial Engineering, and Project Management.
