SYNOPSIS DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCAST-TERRESTRIAL 2
Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial 2 would be implemented nationwide before the end of 2016. This 1 day course is to introduce both academicians and practising engineers to the theory and application of DVB-T2 .
DVB-T2 is a second generation terrestrial broadcast system and much more complicated than its predecessor DVB-T thus causing lack of understanding among engineering personnel. Both the theory and the practical application of DVB-T2 would be presented in simplified terms. Discussion would include an end to end DVB-T2 broadcast chain from transmitter to receiver. DVBS2 (Satellite) would also be introduced to make the course more interesting Comparison would be made between present analogue PAL TV and Digital TV. DVB-T2 enables the transmission of HDTV as a practical proposition. HDTV receivers are now sold in Malaysia at a very reasonable cost thus enabling the public the opportunity to view Free to Air High Definition TV programmes.
