SYNOPSIS
Entrepreneurs are people who relentlessly identify processes and opportunities, allocate resources resulting in value creation. In the endeavor to increase stakeholders’ share equity, the business entity has a need of a strong and formidable leader at the helm. Whatever the background and discipline that the leadership of a business entity possesses, has bearing to the business achievement but nothing compared to that of the value adding the leadership provides. As such entrepreneurial skills are a pre-requisite in a successful business, however coupled with excellent leadership qualities will make the business soar to greater heights of achievements. Running a business takes more than just skills and knowledge. It takes responsibilities and qualities that measures up with the demands of the environment and the market place. Market shares and concentration including opportunities are difficult to penetrate and capitalized. The course “Leadership for Engineers 3 – Leadership for Entrepreneurs”, is one among a series of 10 (ten) courses that will gradually introduce the fundamentals and skill base that leads to competency as a leader, a much sought after ability by engineers and non-engineers alike. It is with these knowledge of the responsibilities and qualities of leadership that shall bring the business entity to greater achievements towards Fortune 500 Class.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
First Admiral Ingenieur Dato Hj Ahmad Murad Bin Hj Omar (Rtd) is a graduate from University Technology Malaysia (UTM) in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc from Warwick University UK in Engineering Business Management. After serving the Royal Malaysian Navy for 32 years, he retired as a First Admiral in 2007. Today he is a Chairman and Advisor of four companies dealing with six sigma consultancy on process improvement and project management, trading, training, shipbuilding design and ship repair maintenance and Logistics. In the international arena First Admiral Ingenieur Dato Hj Ahmad Murad is a Council Vice president and Fellow of the Institution of Marine Engineering Science & Technology a professional body and learned society based in London, United Kingdom. He is also a Chartered Marine Engineer (CmarEng) both registered with the UK Engineering Council. He has been recently appointed as ab Adjunct Professor of University Malaysia Terengganu Faculty of Maritime Studies & Marine Science.
