PURPOSE OF VISIT

This technical visit will provide participants insights to the works on the segmental box girders (SBGs) for the extended Ampang Line. An overview of the entire line will be updated. Participants will also have a chance to witness the launching of SGBs and short technical tour of the line.
The proposed Ampang extension line starts from Sri Petaling Station and passes through Kinrara, Puchong, and ends at Putra Heights. The extension is 17.7km long with 12 new stations. All stations will have facilities such as lifts, escalators, public telephones, surau and public toilets. The stations will also be equipped with Universal Access facilities such as ramps, tactile tiles, low ticket counters and toilets for the disabled. The project is expected to be completed in 2014.
