SYNOPSIS
Introduction to glass functionality and performance and the different type of glass for varying performance needs. The main focus will be on fire rated glass. Fire resistant glazing may be used as a barrier for fire separation or compartmentation as part of an integrated fire safety in compliance with UBBL like example a fire protected lobby with glass panels.
The fundamental rule of fire-resistant glass must only be used as part of a fire-resistance glazing system – which includes - the glass - the glass seals - glazing beads - fixings and glazing system
Fire-resistant glass would have to comply with the various standards like BS476 Part 22, BS EN 1364, MS1073, and SS332 Pyrofire is a local distributor for Pilkington Pyrostop glass, integrating the world-wide proved fire resistant glass and assembled into the framing system to become a certified fire-resistance glass and glazing system.
