SYNOPSIS
The growth of Mold and bacteria in HVAC are very common and can cause severe problems. On the one hand, they make the indoor air unhealthy and unsafe to breathe, as the air passing through the HVAC systems gets contaminated before getting distributed all over the buildings. This microbe infested air can lead to health problems (commonly known as ‘Sick Building Syndrome’).
On the other hand, these bio-films form a jelly like layer on the cooling coils, leading to loss of performance, increase in the pressure drop as well as the operating cost of AHU Fans.
This talk will discuss the ill effects associated with the continuous growth of Bio-Flims (Mold, Fungus, etc.) and introduce the UVGI Systems as an effective and safe way to eliminate this problem.
