SYNOPSIS

The quality of life of a city is always measured against the quality of its infrastructure and utility services and the general level of satisfaction of its citizens with such provisions and services.  In order for Kuala Lumpur to achieve the status of a world class city, its infrastructure and utilities must be of the highest quality, without any problems associated with interrupted supplies, shortages, the use of substandard equipment or materials or unsatisfactory services.

City Hall of Kuala Lumpur (CHKL) has been given responsibility to plan and provide world class infrastructures to ensure Kuala Lumpur remains as a modern, systematic, efficient, living and vibrant city and at par with other leading cities in the world.

In carrying out these important tasks CHKL faces a number of challenges among others cost of land acquisition for road infrastructures, flash flood in urban areas, landslides and slope failures, construction activities due to massive development in the city, monitoring illegal road digging activities and the quality of roads.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Abdul Aziz Bin Yusoff (born 8 June 1956) has been Senior Deputy Director of Civil Engineering and Drainage Department since July 15, 2011. He has twelve years (1983 to 1994) experience in Sewerage and Drainage Department, 10 years (1995 to 2004) in Drainage and River Management Department and the last 12 years in Civil Engineering and Drainage Department. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from Mara Technology University (UITM) and worked in City Hall Of Kuala Lumpur after graduation. He was awarded a medal 'Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah' (KMW) by the His Majestic of King on 1 February 2014
