SYNOPSIS

The Amendments to The Registration of Engineers ACT (2014) has been finally gazetted on 24 February 2015 while the actual date of implementation is to be decided by the Minister of Works. The new concept of two tier registration has been introduced in the amendment to The Registration of Engineers ACT. The Professional Competency Examination (PCE) is a test of the Professional Engineer’s professional competency in engineering knowledge and understanding of Malaysian laws and regulations, rules, standards and guidelines which are designed to ensure Health, Safety and Welfare of the Public. Many safety professionals work in more than one country nowadays. The number of multinational companies continues to increase particularly with the amendments to the registration of the engineers Act. The globalization of business will increase the need for international transportability of safety credentials. As the world is flattening through technology and education, more safety professionals in different countries are working together on the same safety and projects. This presentation is to introduce The Board of Certified Safety Professionals, BCSP, The Associate Safety Professional, ASP and Certified Safety Professionals, CSP certifications to the Malaysian professionals (in all disciplines) who are seeking globally recognized high quality credentials for health, safety and sustainable environmental practices.
