SYNOPSIS

Road geometric design concerns the design of road alignment that conforms to the site constraints and standards. The basic objectives are to optimize efficiency and safety while minimizing cost and environmental damage. Once a road/highway engineer is familiar with the basics of road geometric design, the next step to enhance their value is by learning a software for the application of these basic knowledge. The intention of having this course is to apply the road geometric design into the software as well as relate with the design standards applied into the software. Participants will be able to design road geometric from checking of survey data, horizontal and vertical design, super-elevation and production of road cross sections.
Besides learning the software, the speaker will share his various experiences while designing roads/highways using MXROAD. This course is a continuity of the road geometric course carried out previously. This course is specifically targeted for those road/highway engineers who need to design roads, those who have taken on a new responsibility on road design related work, those who are looking for new knowledge on road design software, or those who just wish to broaden their knowledge. In addition, it is also suitable for those who would like to know more about MXROAD software and try out the software before purchase.


BIODATA OF SPEAKERS

Mr Kughanathan Kuppusamy obtained his degree in Civil Engineering from University of Science Malaysia in 2002. He previously worked as a design engineer with Ace Vector Sdn Bhd, a civil engineering consultant. While working with the consultant firm, he was involved in the design of several road projects using MXROAD with reference to JKR’s Geometric Design Standard. He has over 14 years of experience as a trainer for Bentley MXROAD from Beginner’s level to Advanced level.
