SYNOPSIS

Managing offshore oil and gas Brownfield projects offers different challenges from new Greenfield projects in terms of working in live operating facilities and complexities with offshore execution. This talk will cover definition of oil and gas offshore Brownfield (retrofit) projects and present the challenges involved in the execution of such projects including the design, construction, commissioning and handover to Operations.

The presentation will illustrate the speaker’s project experiences including the HSSE aspects as well as simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) considerations. Retna will also highlight processes and methods for improving planning and execution of Brownfield projects.

The target audience includes oil and gas professionals who wish to understand and learn more on the complexities of managing offshore Brownfield projects.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Retnakumar has over thirty three years oil and gas project management experience with a major international oil corporation involving development planning, project services and controls, engineering, fabrication, hook-up & commissioning and offshore retrofit for major oil and gas development projects. He has led the construction and hookup/commissioning of several manned and satellite oil and gas platforms including major offshore Brownfield (retrofit) projects. Currently he is the Facilities & Projects Director with an international oil and gas operator. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a committee member of the Project Management Technical Division of IEM.

Retnakumar is a Registered Professional Engineer with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (Honours) from the University of Liverpool and holds a Masters in Business Administration (specialization in Project Management) degree. Retna has a certification in Training from HRDF.
