SYNOPSIS
• Ulu Jelai is located in the State of Pahang, in the district of the Cameron Highlands about 140 km north of Kuala Lumpur and 80 km to the west coast of mainland Malaysia. • The main features of the Project are the Susu Dam – an 88 m high RCC dam on Sg. Bertam, two diversion weirs on Sg. Lemoi and Sg. Telom for the diversion of flows from adjacent catchments via 7.5 km and 8km long transfer tunnels into Sg. Bertam, a 372 MW Underground Power Station and the required associated water conveyance and access road system. • The hydroelectric development will generate peaking energy to the national grid. • Entry Point Project under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) to transform Malaysia into a high income nation by 2020.
