BIODATA OF SPEAKERS

Ir. Ismail Omar, DTM

Ir. Ismail Omar is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a Fellow of Institution of Engineers Malaysia. Like most engineers, Ismail finds it difficult to communicate ideas outside his technical expertise. Having realized this, he joined Toastmasters (IEM Toastmasters) in 2006 and served his club in various capacities including President and Division C as Area Governor C1. Ismail believes in sharing knowledge and experience with others so others can benefit from these. He has helped and mentored many toastmasters and toastmaster clubs. At present he is the President of IEM Toastmasters and the Secretary of TMIKL the oldest toastmasters club in Malaysia where he is also the webmaster.      

Robert Ram, DTM

Robert Ram is a licensed auctioneer. He has served the real estate industry in various capacities since 1994. A public speaker since 2001, Robert has imparted his public speaking knowledge to thousands of people, via his books, seminars & workshops. Robert is the author & publisher of 6 books on public speaking. Robert became a Distinguished Toastmaster in 2012 and he emerged as the Peninsular Malaysia (District 51) Speech Evaluation Champion in 2013.

Alex Lu, ACB, ALB

Alex Lu a financial professional with background in stock-broking, equipment financing, project financing, commercial credit, loan documentation and credit administration. He has been a presenter in the Corporate Profile segment of Capital Today, a TV program on Capital TV and has been interviewed on investment matters on Market Watch with BFM89.9 on several occasions. Alex joined IEM Toastmasters in 2009 and served as a President of the club from 2013 to 2014. He has actively participated in Speech Contests and has represented the club and Division E at 2013 District 51 Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest.
