SYNOPSIS
Composites which especially carbon fibre are being utilized at a greater extent due to its beneficial properties such as the strength to weight ratio. Carbon fibre is a material consisting of extremely thin fibres about 0.005-0.010 mm diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. The demand for the composite has increased in recent years due to application in aerospace and automotive industries. This demands required special manufacturing process as well as machining technique. The nature of composite consists of several materials lead to different cutting parameters needed for machining. Thus challenge machinist for machining such complex materials.
