OVERVIEW

•  IEM Training Academy Sdn Bhd (IEMTA), with the approval of Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Malaysia
   (ST) is conducting an Energy Manager Training Course (EMTC) as part of the initiative to
   produce more Registered Electrical Energy Managers (REEMs) and support the implementation
   of the Efficient Management of Electrical Energy Regulations (EMEER 2008).
•  Participants will be trained .on matters such as regulatory requirements, energy management
   tools, and skills to implement and optimize energy management plans and projects in their
   facilities.
•  Eligible participants can register via IEMTA as REEM with ST upon passing the EMTC
    examination and oral interview / presentation.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

1. Ir. Francis Xavier Jacob

Ir. Francis Xavier Jacob was the Advisor of Energy Commission (ST).

He graduated in 1977 with a B.Eng.(Hons) degree in electrical engineering from  Universiti Malaya and holds a degree in Environment (2007).

He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia  (BEM).  He has been with the Commission and the Department of Electricity and  Gas Supply since 1991. He chairs the Technical Committee on the Standards for  Energy Management and also sits in various Standards working Committees.


2. Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr Gobbi Ramasamy

Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gobbi Ramasamy is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia  University (MMU), Selangor.

He graduated in 1988 with a B.Eng.(Hons) degree in electrical engineering from  Universiti Technology Malaysia and holds a    in Science in Industrial and  Tech. Management. He also holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (2008) from  Multimedia University, Malaysia

He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia  (BEM). A Registered Electrical Energy Manager with the Energy Commission and  specializes in Power Electronics and Motor Dives.


3. Ir. Luk Chau Beng

Ir. Luk Chau Beng has a Masters in Engineering Management with specialization  in Energy Management, Joint University Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia and HEC,  Montreal.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing  certificate with the Board  of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Fellow member of The Institution of Engineers,  Malaysia.  He is also a registered electrical energy manager.

He is an active member of the engineering community having served in various  capacities in IEM and other organisations.


4. Ir. Gopal Narian Kutty

Ir. Gopal Narian Kutty is a Registered Electric Energy Manager with the Energy  Commission. He graduated in 1984 with B.Sc. (Hons) degree in mechanical  engineering from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK and holds a M.Sc degree  in Construction Project Management (1997) from UMIST, England.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing certificate with the Board  of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Fellow member of The Institution of Engineers,  Malaysia, ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).

His expertise are in project management, design of mechanical services (building),  workshop and asset management, energy auditing,  subject  matter  expert-  building services (mechanical), energy conservation, energy efficiency and  sustainable construction.


5. Ir.  KT Lim

Ir. KT Lim graduated in 1979 with a B.Eng.(Hons) degree in electrical engineering  from  Universiti Malaya  and  holds  a Master’s in Science in Electrical (1990) from the National University of Singapore.

He graduated in 1979 with a B.Eng.(Hons) degree in  electrical engineering  from  Universiti Malaya  and  holds  a Master’s in Science in Electrical (1990) from the National University of Singapore.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing  certificate with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). An active member of the engineering community having  served in various capacities in IEM and other  organisations.  He specialises in Standards and Guidelines and also an  Industrial Advisory Member /Examination Panel for various  Universities.


6. Ir.  Chong Chew Fan

Ir. Chong Chew Fan is a Registered Electric Energy Manager with the  Energy Commission. He graduated in 2002  with B.Eng.  (Hons) degree in electrical, electronics  and  system  engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing  certificate with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Specialises in Engineering proposal, planning, design, tender  evaluation, contract documentation and administration,  project management and Green Building sustainable design  and development.


7. Ir. Al-Khairi Mohd Daud

Ir. Al-Khairi Mohd. Daud graduated in 1992 with B. Eng (Hons) degree  in  Mechanical  Engineering in 1992 from University of Leeds UK and holds a MBA from UNITAR.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing certificate with the Board  of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a registered Electrical Energy Manager with  Energy Commission (EC). He has 25 years of experience in project and maintenance of various plants and  facilities, energy management consultancy, audit, facilities management  advisory,  at both government and private sector. .A leading energy management expert in  various organisations. Currently he is a Managing Director and is a lecture/instructor for the Ministry of  Health and Suruhanjaya Tenaga.


8. Ir. Tan Jin Kiong

Ir. Tan Jin Kiong is a Registered Electric Energy Manager with  the Energy Commission. He graduated in 1996 with B. Eng.  degree in Mechanical from University of Auckland, New  Zealand. He obtained his MBA in 2006 from the University of  Wales, UK.

He is a registered professional engineer with practicing  certificate with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He has 19 years of experience in facilities operation and  administration, construction project, property, township and  auxiliary services management at both government and  private sector. Involved in Senior management and also a  quality accreditation surveyor for healthcare industries.
