SYNOPSIS
This course provides fundamental knowledge on project planning and how project scheduling can be realised using an opensource tool, ProjectLibre. A survey done by the Project Management Institute (PMI, USA) showed that one of the key practices that make any projects perfom better is the application of standard project management practices. Hence, it is crucial that performing organizations must ensure that those involve in projects are equipped with the basic knowledge of project management. ProjectLibre is an opensource project scheduling tool which is cost effective for any enterprise or organisation and it is free. This one-day course will cover learning through lectures and practical work using the ProjectLibre software. At the end of this course, participants will be able apply basic knowledge and skill on project scheduling and able to develop a systematic project schedule using ProjectLibre for any given type of projects. The modules in this course will cover the following topics: introduction to project management, project management principles, lifecycle and phases, process groups, project scope, WBS, project networks, project scheduling, Gantt chart and ProjectLibre.
