KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah  Haji Mohamad Ali
Special Guest of Honour

Siti Hasmah became the wife of Malaysia prime minister following the appointment of her husband as Prime Minister in 1981. She used her position as the wife of the Prime Minister to campaign tirelessly for women's health, family planning, drug abuse control and adult literacy. She also served in various positions as follows:

• President of the Malaysian Girl Guides Association
• Chairman of the Kedah Family Planning Association
• President of the Malaysian Medical Association Foundation
• President of the Association for the Rehabilitation of Handicapped Children
• Vice-President of the Federation of Family Planning Associations of Malaysia
• Patron of the Malaysian Association of Maternal Health and Neonate
• Patron of the Malaysian Pediatric Association
• Patron of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)

As Patron of the Pan Pacific South Asia Women's Association, (PPSEAWA) Malaysia, Siti Hasmah attended and presented keynote addresses at the Triennial Conferences in Tokyo (1984), Bangkok (1991) and Tonga (1994). She again served as the wife of the prime minister after her husband was reappointed on May 10, 2018.


BIODATA OF SPEAKERS

1. Ir. Prof. Dr. Siti Hawa Hamzah
    Vice President (APT), The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia

She is currently the Director (EAD & ETAD), Board of Engineers, Malaysia and the Mentor to Bangladesh for WA (IEA). She is a Retired Professor (Civil & Structural Engineering), UiTM Shah Alam with 33 years teaching and academic experience since 1983. She had been appointed as External Reviewer to MSCE at Qatar University; External Examiner to B. Eng Civil programmes at Monash University Malaysia, University College of Technology Sarawak, MAHSA University, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, INTI International University, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia; and Diploma in Civil Engineering at MAHSA University. She had been an OBE Trainer (CEE UTM - MOHE Afghanistan World Bank Project), EAC Advisor to Universiti Malaya, Advisory Panel Member Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Al Madinah International University), OBE Advisor to Universiti Industri Selangor, BEM-EAC & ETAC Accreditation Trainer, and BEM Lead Accreditation Evaluator. She is also a PAE & PI Principle Panel Interviewer and formerly a BEM T&E Committee Member. She received IEM Women Engineer Award, Honorary Member to ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organization (AFEO), triple recipient of excellent service awards, and awarded with more than 20 research accolades.


2. Ir. Ts. Bibi Sabrena Sakandar Khan
    Project Director, KLIA Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn. Bhd.  

Ir. Ts. Bibi Sabrena Sakandar Khan leads and provides strategic frameworks, technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation on overall project activities within stipulated time, cost, and quality until the completion of Defect Liability Period for
Asset Replacement Plan for KLIA Baggage Handling System (ARP BHS) and Asset Replacement Plan for KLIA Automated People Mover (ARP APM).


3. Ms. Aida Ismail
    President, Women in Corporate Aviation Asia  

She wears many hats besides being a governor on the board of Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), a non-profit association representing business and general aviation entities in Asia and around the world. She is also the president of Women in Corporate Aviation Asia (WCAA) and regional director of the Dubai-based Hadid International Services Asia, which provides aviation support and fixed base operator services. Occasionally, she still runs very small groups teaching children how to manage their pocket money and to her, that is the ultimate happiness.


4. Ir. Prof. Dr. Zuhaina Zakaria
    Honorary Secretary, The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia

She received bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1989 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She continues her studies and received Masters Degree from Napier University, Edinburgh, UK in 1997 and PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK in 2005. Her main research interests are in the areas of energy efficiency, power quality, load profiling and power system analysis. Based on her leadership and management skills, she is given opportunity to hold several administrative posts in the faculty and university. Currently, Prof. Ir. Dr. Zuhaina Zakaria is the Dean for Institute of Graduate Studies, UiTM. She is member of IET, senior member of IEEE and currently the Honorary Secretary of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.


5. Datin Ts. Habsah Nordin
    Chief Data Officer, PETRONAS

She is responsible for orchestrating PETRONAS’ data strategy with the aim to liberate data seamlessly and institutionalise a center of excellence for Data in PETRONAS, oversee the efforts to build the Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) and scale advanced analytics across the organisation. Datin Ts. Habsah is a PETRONAS scholar and holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science from the Case Western Reserve University, USA. She joined PETRONAS in 1995 and has since held various leadership roles in IT, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Marketing, Transformation, Internal Audit, Project Management, as well as Data and Knowledge Management.


6. Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin
    Chief Executive Officer, National Cyber Security Agency

Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy is currently the Registrar, Board of Engineers Malaysia. Appointed as the Adjunct Professor Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), he is also Pakar Rujuk Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia (ICT Infrastructure), the ASEAN Certified Professional Engineer (ACPE-03014/MY), the Certified Knowledge Manager of KM Institute USA, the Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, and also the Associate Research Fellow of Microwave Research Institute, Universiti Teknologi MARA.


7. Ir. Adj. Prof. Ts Glenda Chang
   Founder & Entrepreneur, Strallex Group Sdn. Bhd.

Ir. Adj. Prof. Ts. Glenda Chang is the founder of Strallex Group, established in 2016, which has diversified into few key strategic areas of businesses, such as oil and gas project management, property development and construction, technology advancements and automation, and most recently medical supplies.


8. Ir. Assoc. Prof. EUR. ING.Ts. Dr. Syuhaida Ismail
    Chair Women Engineers, The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia

A dedicated advocate for women engineers and young women pursuing STEM education, she has been invited as plenary/keynote speaker in conferences/seminars/forums to empower fellow women engineers fellows and encourage female students to embrace STEM disciplines. She also shares her insights and experiences encompassing research interests on project management, maritime economics, marine environment, and maritime education and training.  Despite being a volunteer, a humanitarian, a mother, a wife, and juggling 4 kids between 3 and 17 years old, she has published more than 380 articles and received 88 research/professional awards, where her research products are commercialised into more than 100 Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). She is currently the Chair of Women Engineers Section, the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM).


9.  Ms. Ainaa Atikah Rosli
    Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder Tech Up Group

Ainaa Rosli is the CEO, and Co-Founder of Tech Up, an avid entrepreneur who is passionate about S.T.E.M education. She is responsible for setting the vision and strategy and ensures its sustainability, profitability, and consistent growth. As an entrepreneur, she taught herself design and programming and with her partner co-founder Lok Kah Fai, they together developed a gamified robotics simulator software called GoTechUp which is currently distributed to more than 6 countries, including Japan, Singapore, Latin America, France, Hong Kong and Australia.
Ainaa’s entrepreneurial journey began with Distinct Motion Sdn. Bhd. , where she and Lok Kah Fai co-founded robotics learning centers called Little Botz Academy in Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya. Their endeavour was eventually acquired by Sasbadi Holdings Berhad in 2016. Ainaa holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Melbourne,
Australia. Before venturing into the education and technology sectors, Ainaa gained valuable experience in Performance Management, Strategy, Corporate Finance, Treasury, and Capital Management through her work at Maybank Investment Banking Group and Sime Darby.

10. Ir. Sharifah Azlina Raja Kamal Pasmah
     Chief Operating Officer, HSS Engineers Bhd.

On 1 January 2018, Ir. Sharifah Azlina was appointed as the Executive Director of the Company. She is also a Director and Chief Executive Officer of HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd and Director of BIM Global Ventures Sdn Bhd.

She graduated from the Christian Brothers University, Memphis, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1990 and subsequently, completed her Master of Business Administration at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK in 2012.


11. Ir. Rusnida Talib
      Vice Chair II Women Engineers IEM

A Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate attached in Government Agency in Malaysia, Ir. Rusnida believes that she has the potential to position herself in the competitive engineering world and contribute to achieving the goals on both professional and personal level.  She has also demonstrated strengths in maintaining the good quality and standard of the work and productivity and raising staff motivation. With passion for learning and developing new and existing skills, Ir. Rusnida is passionate to be leaders in the movement towards use of wise, informed, and economical sustainable and resilience in engineering.

    
12. Ms. Hakimah Saiful Bahri
      Seafarer/ITF Inspector, International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF)

Ms. Hakimah was a Chief Officer & Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer with a total of 1823 DP hours onboard various type of offshore vessels. She has a total of 12 years of working experiences within the maritime industry. She obtained COC Class 1 Master of 3000GT or More Unlimited Trade Voyage in 2020. She was trained as a deck officer in Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), which she later graduated in 2010. Over the years, she has succeeded through the ranks and has served in both local and international shipping oil and gas companies, including American Eagle Tanker (AET), Murphy Oil Group, Orkim Shipmanagement Sdn. Bhd., Bahtera Sri Kandi Marine Sdn. Bhd. (Bourbon Offshore Asia Pte. Ltd), Pacific Radiance Limited, amongst others.


13. Dr. Amani Salim
Co-Founder and Chief Technologist of nanoSkunkWorkX

Chief Technologist and Co-Founder of nanoSkunkWorkX Sendirian Berhad, a start-up focusing on creating killer apps from nanomaterials such as graphene and conductive polymers. Multidisciplinary engineer and researcher, project manager, and educator with multidisciplinary background in nanotechnology, biomedical, electrical, and materials engineering. Thrives under pressure with proven delivery and execution experience in time-sensitive, mission critical projects working with domain-leading organisations such as NASA. Passionate and engaging public speaker for youth and STEM engagement, addressing varied audiences such as K-12 students and corporate and government bodies. Currently pursuing entrepreneurship initiatives in scaling up and creating impact in nanotechnology, solving problems in the field of biosensors, clean water generation, medical and environmental monitoring, energy storage, security and defence, as well as other applications of current research work in order to drive sustainable radical innovation in Malaysia with a view towards global impact.


14. Ms. Ong Jee Lian
Executive Director of Gamuda Engineering

With nearly 21 years of experience, she became the Group’s Chief Sustainability Officer in 2020. Since 2021, she also serves as the Executive Director of Gamuda Engineering. Her current focus is on leading Gamuda's sustainability strategy, emphasizing ESG aspects, and forging partnerships with stakeholders for sustainable infrastructure in construction and property. She ensures ESG integration in all business operations, including green financing and sustainability reporting.
Previously, she played a pivotal role in corporate and project communications, overseeing successful strategies for Malaysia's first metro systems, KVMRT Line 1 and Line 2, as Project Delivery Partner with MMC Gamuda. She also held communication positions at Lenovo and UEM Sunrise.
In 2022, she was the UN Women Asia-Pacific WEPs award first runner-up in Leadership Commitment. Recently, she represented the private sector at the 2023 UN Women Plenary Panel on Asia-Pacific women's economic empowerment.
