SYNOPSIS

Successful organizations create projects that produce desired results in established time frames with assigned resources. As a result, businesses are increasily driven to find individuals who can excel in this project-oriented environment. Business leaders and experts have recognised that project management is critical to sustainable growth. Having said, project management is an essential skill that every individual who is involved in a project should be equipped with this knowledge. Project management provides people with a powerful set of tools that improves their ability to plan, implement and manage activities to accomplish specific objectives. This course provides basic knowledge on project management best practice which can be applied to any industry, organization or project. The concept used in this course will refer to the standard of project management in particular the standard and framework given in PMBOK Guide which enables the participants to speak with the common language of project management effectively. At the end of this course,participants will have a good understanding on project management and what are the effective ways to manage their projects using project management processes from initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing stages of a project.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abang Anuar Ehsan

Ir. Assoc Prof. Dr. Abang Annuar Ehsan works as a research fellow at the Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He holds a BE in electrical engineering (UNSW), MSc in microelectronics (UKM), ME in manufacturing system engineering (UPM), MPM in project management (OUM), PhDin applied science (UiTM) and PhD in micro engineering and nano electronics (UKM).His research interest includes fiber optics devices, optical design, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and micro machining processes.

Dr. Abang Annuar Ehsan has more than 15 years of project management experiences in leading research projects including fundings from MOHE, MOSTI, MTDC and MITI. Dr. Abang Annuar Ehsan conducts academic courses in UKM in particular in subjects such as research methodology, applied nanoelectronics, 3D printing, photonics technology and project planning. He is active in product development activities in UKM and has collaborated with industries in developing products based on his research work in UKM. He holds 6 patents on optical devices and 3D printing system. Prior to working in UKM, he has worked with Mimos Semiconductor and Celcom Timur among others.

Dr. Abang Annuar Ehsan is a registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) under the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a certified project management professional (PMP) under the Project Management Institute (PMI, USA). Dr. Abang Annuar Ehsan is also a TTT certified trainer under Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (HRDF).
