SYNOPSIS
This seminar which is part of the Road Engineer Induction Series, is intended to give aspiring road engineers an overview of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) process associated with infrastructure works. JKR has mandated that 50% of government project above RM 10 million to implement BIM since 2021 with increment of 10 % annually until 2025. At present, 70% of government project above RM 10 million are using BIM. En Muhammad Iyas will be discussing the implementation of BIM in infrastructure projects in Malaysia including the fundamentals of BIM, BIM workflow, BIM elements and Level of Information (LOI) required based on the Level of Development (LOD) required and the possible problems affecting BIM in infrastructure projects. On top of that, there will be demonstration on how BIM softwares might help stakeholders to make informed decision based on the BIM model.
To best illustrate the BIM in infrastructure projects, Ts. Ainaa Bisyarah will be demonstrating the usage of BIM in infrastructure projects using available softwares in accordance to the LOD required. This demonstration will be based on actual projects implemented on site.
