SYNOPSIS

Nanomaterials are utilised in a wide range of industries, including sustainable manufacturing, smart coating, and enhanced energy storage. Nanoscience and nanotechnology are more important than ever for scientists and engineers to understand since they can lead to lucrative technological prospects in almost any business. There are three sections to this webinar. I'll start with the fundamentals and basics of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The design and processes will be covered in the second section, followed by the uses of nanomaterials in diverse industries.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Boon Hoong

Associate Professor Dr. Ong Boon Hoong is a materials scientist who graduated from the National University of Malaysia. He is the Head of Advanced Functional Nanomaterials Laboratory at Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre (NANOCAT), University of Malaya. Currently, he and his team are working on the design and synthesis of advanced functional nanomaterials and explore its potential applications in energy, sensor, medical, electronics and environment. He held numerous public and private research grants, mainly using nanotechnology in solving materials problems and explore new usages in different applications. He is the Honorary Member of the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM).
