SYNOPSIS
Circular economy has been recognised as the solution to the world emission and waste pollution problems. To completely cover the economy and technology in a circular manner, it is advisable to enhance the current circular system similar to the GDP structure. For Terra Phoenix® group of companies, which the speaker will introduce, it observes the principle of circular economy on two different fronts; in waste and communications.
The first part of the talk will be on iCYCLE®. iCYCLE is a solution provider offering a platform for Comprehensive Recycling that caters to the needs of businesses, households, cities, and ultimately people. The social-business portal allows subscribers to track and monitor their performance at recycling. The company also runs awareness programmes with institutions of education, NGO’s, companies; adding value to society by engaging, educating people and empowering them to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The second part is about iCONNECT. The iCONNECT solves 5G and 6G emission and radiation problem by providing an alternative to the wireless communication means.
SPEAKER BIODATA
Dr. Tan Ching Seong is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University, Malaysia. He is active in consultancy and is a consultant to a number of companies including SENKO Advanced Components, Hongkong. He was a recipient of the prestigious J. William Fulbright Award 2012/2013.
As the co-founder and CEO of Terra Phoenix Holdings Sdn Bhd, which is an MMU start-up company, he takes great pride in promoting his group of companies, and the iCYCLE and iCONNECT platforms that add value to the environment and society.
Dr Tan received his first degree in 1998 from the University of Malaya, and obtained his PhD in Engineering from NTU Singapore in 2006. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of SPIE (International Society of Optical Engineering) and IMechE, and is a Chartered Engineer. He has co-authored an engineering textbook (Applied Engineering Failure Analysis: Theory and Practice), authored over 25 journal papers and over 30 conference papers.
