Transport : Coach will be provided. Participants are to assemble at 10.00 am at Bangunan Ingenieur, Petaling Jaya. The coach will depart IEM at 10.30 am sharp.
PROJECT BRIEF The Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Project is a rail-based public transport network, envisaged to radically improve and transform Kuala Lumpur’s public transportation coverage and to propel the Greater Kuala Lumpur region into one of the top most liveable cities in the world. The second MRT Line, i.e. the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line will serve a corridor with a population density of around 3 million people stretching from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya, covering Sri Damansara, Kepong, Batu, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Jalan Tun Razak, KLCC, Tun Razak Exchange, Kuchai Lama, Seri Kembangan and Cyberjaya. The 52.2km alignment, including13.5km of underground tunnels, will have a total of 36 stations, 11 of which will be built underground.
The technical visit aims to allow the participants to develop a greater understanding on the deep excavation in karstic limestone. Conlay Station, involves a 29 m deep excavation, and is located at the geological interface between the Kenny Hill Formation and the Kuala Lumpur Limestone Formation. The deep excavation will be viewed from the viewing platform at the ground surface. A technical briefing will also be conducted.
PRICE EXCLUDES 1. Travel insurance. 2. Items not mentioned herein such as extra expenses incurred due to disruption of travel plan, deportation, refusal entry, sickness, death, riot, act of nature, rumours, war, and diseases. 3. Personal protective equipment.
