SYNOPSIS

Cenergi SEA develops and invests in clean energy projects with focus on biogas, solar PV, biomass and energy efficiency projects in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It is one of the largest grid-connected palm oil mill effluent biogas players in the country. It currently operates five (5) biogas power plants with combined generation capacity of 8.5MW and another 1.5 MW biogas plant to be commissioned in 4th quarter of 2019. These projects hold a renewable energy power purchase agreement (REPPA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd and qualify as renewable energy feed-in tariff programs that are governed by the Sustainable Development Authority of Malaysia (SEDA). It main objective also to reduce carbon emissions and to ensure that both industry and society realize the importance of environmental sustainability.


SPEAKER BIODATA

Ir. Wan Wai Thong was graduated with a Bachelor in Engineering Hons. Agriculture in 1993 from Universiti Putra Malaysia.  He worked his way up with the required knowledge and skills in palm oil milling industries. He obtained his 2nd grade steam engineer certificate by DOSH in 1995 and 1st grade steam engineer certificate by DOSH in 1997. In 1996, he obtained his Diploma in Palm Oil Milling and management offered by PORIM. He had worked in power plant for more than 6 years with experience in operation and maintenance of high pressure and temperature power plant, study and monitor boiler efficiency and related machineries.  He furthers his engineering quest by obtaining Professional Engineer certification by Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) in year 2011 and is a member of Institute of Engineer Malaysia (IEM). Experienced in managing engineering and contracting works for 2 years.

Mr. Eric Wong Hong Yee graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. In 2008, he joined AES Agriverde Malaysia Sdn Bhd as Project Manager for several sites under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). He supervised and monitored the overall construction works of five palm oil mill projects up to completion. He later joined a France-based company, Rhodia, from 2011 to 2012 as Project Manager for a 2-MW biogas power plant located near Bahau, Negeri Sembilan. His responsibilities ranged from budget planning to prepare tender documents for preliminary site works.
