SYNOPSIS
Low voltage electrical installations for healthcare facilities are amongst the most complex electrical installations. This overview shall discuss and highlight the design and installations of electrical installations only for hospitals based on MS IEC (IEC) 60364 and BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations) especially Part 7 – 710. The emphasis shall be equipped engineers who intend to acquire PI or PAE professional status and sitting for PCE examination.
SPEAKER BIODATA
Ir. Lim Kim Ten graduated in B.E (Hons) from University of Malaya in 1979 and M.Sc. (Electrical) from National University of Singapore in 1990. Ir. Lim has 40 years engineering experiences in semiconductor engineering, low voltage electrical and industrial electronic engineering, oil and gas, and construction, printed circuit board and systems design, and lecturing as was a lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore. He is actively involved in Malaysian low voltage electrical standard developments, especially low voltage electrical installation standards such as alternate member of MyENC: Malaysian National Electrotechnical Committee, SWO–Ej–TC1: Standard Writing Committee on Electrical Installation, Protection and Insulation, and Technical Committee developing Malaysian standards for healthcare facilities. Moreover, Ir. K.T. Lim is actively involved in electronics, systems and PCB design engineering, as speaker in conferences and course instructor in specialised industrial electrical and electronic engineering.
