SYNOPSIS

5G mobile networks is the next generation network that could change how we live our lives - 100 times download speed, exceptionally low latency, massive connection capacity and many more to offer. Telco giants from all over the world are working closely together to establish 5G standards, while mobile phone manufacturers, network operators, infrastructure providers, media content providers, software developers and all other parties in the value chain are equally busy to device strategies for market. In this talk we will discuss the technical challenges in rolling out 5G offers and how does it inspire new growth and innovation.


SPEAKER BIODATA

Dr Yeo Kwok Shien graduated his PhD in Photonics and Fiber Optics Systems Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2014, Bachelor in Electronics Engineering year 2008 from UTAR and currently working as a senior lecturer in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (DEE), Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET), Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC). Dr Yeo is a visiting researcher at Wireless Innovation Center, MIMOS Berhad since year 2016, where he has been working on indoor positioning project based on Wi-Fi fingerprint technique. Dr Yeo was also an invited speaker for Photonics Lecture Series 2017 organized by IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter. Besides, Dr Yeo is also an associate trainer for Huawei Malaysia Global Training Center, specializing Inside/Outside Plant Optical Fiber installation, testing and maintenance. Dr Yeo also holds the following qualifications Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia Tahap 3 - Pemasangan & Penyelengaraan Fiber Optik (Telekomunikasi) by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran. Sijil Kecekapan Optik Gentian - Pemasangan, Penyambungan, Ujian dan Penyenggaran by Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
