Synopsis
Heating Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) is a process which starts with determining the Concept of the system. Factors like the operating environment, acquisition cost, maintenance philosophy and many other factors must be considered carefully. Engineers must also be aware of the rules and regulations relating to living quarters. Engineers will also look into waste heat recovery and environmental issues. Hence, Engineers has to be aware of all the relevant factors. Selecting the right HVAC philosophy would eventually save cost in designing, equipment construction, operations and maintenance of a vessel.
Objective of the talk:
1. To guide engineers in developing the concept of HVAC. 2. To prepare a specification for HVAC. 3. To compare HVAC design for sea and land (shore). 4. To guide engineers and consultants to use the right scope to design HVAC
